Learn about the Charles on an easy amble.

Description

Join us during Waltham Riverfest for a walk along the Charles River to learn about its nature and history. After meeting by the green benches and talking about the significant points of interest upstream of Moody Street, we’ll cross the road and head downstream by the fish ladder, through Landry Park, and along the boardwalk next to the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation. We’ll continue past Elm Street for a little bit, then return to Moody Street via the new pathway along the Edison apartments.

Between 10 am and 3 pm, visit with local community groups (like the WLT) and vendors set up on a closed-to-traffic Moody Street Bridge, which will also have activities for children and a handful of food trucks. Live music will be happening outside of Margaritas on Friday, August 6, 6-8 pm, and Saturday noon-8 pm. A second stage for entertainment will be elsewhere in the area. Discounts for canoes, kayaks and stand-up-paddle boards will be offered through Charles River Canoe and Kayak at Cronin’s Landing.
